John Freeman has been tapped by FitzBradshaw Racing to pilot the No. 22 Supercuts/Family Dollar Dodge Busch East entry at New Hampshire International Speedway. The 19 year old Busch East rookie will make his first start for FitzBradshaw Racing in the Sylvania 125 September 16 th at the Magic Mile in Loudon, New Hampshire.
Freeman has eight starts this year in the NASCAR Busch East Series, his best
finish coming at New Hampshire in July where the rookie posted a seventh
place finish.
Freeman currently sits tied for fourth in the rookie standings, 13 points
behind teammate Ruben Pardo.
Freeman competed in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series in 2005 capturing five
poles and posting nine top-five and 17 top-10 finishes in 20 races.
Freeman won both the Hardee's Summer Shootout points Championship and the
Red, White and Blue Championship at Lowe's Motor Speedway in 2004. As well
the young driver was the North Carolina State Champion in the Thunder
Roadster Division in 2004.
"We are very excited to have John on board," states owner Armando Fitz. "We
think he has a tremendous amount of talent, he is a welcome addition to
FitzBradshaw Racing."
Plans are for Freeman to join teammate and fellow rookie contender Ruben Pardo in the remaining three races of the 2006 season. Freeman will pilot the No. 22 Supercuts/Family Dollar Dodge at Loudon, Dover International Speedway, and the road course at Lime Rock Park.
The goal for both Freeman and Pardo is for both to finish in the top-15 in points to be eligible for the Toyota All-Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway October 20 th and 21st.
