FREEMAN LOOKS FORWARD TO STAFFORD BUSCH EAST RACE
Young Gun Takes to Northern Track for the First Time

John Freeman is very pumped up about hitting the track at Connecticut’s Stafford Motor Speedway this week for the second race on the NASCAR Busch East Series schedule.  He and the #5 Motion Racing Team had a disappointing Busch East Series debut at Greenville-Pickens Speedway that resulted in a 27th place finish. With Greenville in his mirror, John is looking ahead and chomping at the bit to get back on track.
“We overheated the engine and I think we blew the head gasket,” said John about the Greenville opener. “Our car was good and stuck to the bottom after the tires wore off. I think we would have been in line for a good top-ten finish if it weren’t for the problems.”

“Greenville was a great learning experience getting laps in the car and we are now really looking forward to going to Stafford. We tested real well there. Hopefully this is the one bad race we will have and we can throw this away and get some momentum going at Stafford.”
Freeman took some of his first laps behind the wheel of a Busch East car at a recent Stafford test and fell in love with the historic half-mile oval.
“I absolutely love that track,” said an excited Freeman.  “I didn’t know what to expect when I went there because it is the first place I ever got to drive one of these big heavy Busch cars. But now I have laps there and at Greenville and am looking forward to it. Stafford is awesome with those cars.

“It’s a completely different style of racing. I am used to down south where we have an inside and outside wall. At Stafford there is grass on the inside. It’s a real finesse track. The fastest guy around Stafford is going to be the guy who is the smoothest and that is the way I like to drive. I like to be smooth and get a rhythm.

“We ran some good laps up there and I think we have a good shot at competing for a top-five there. I now have the experience of running with some of these guys on the track and I know more after Greenville of what the car will do and how it will react. I think carrying all that knowledge into Stafford will be a big plus.”

John Freeman will hit the track at Stafford on Friday June, 17th. The race will be televised on SPEED (air date is TBA).  For more information, please contact Mike Twist at (207) 590-1786 and be sure to check out www.johnfreemanracing.net
