John Freeman Has Great Showing At Dover
John Freeman looked forward to the final season race in the NASCAR Busch East Series at Dover International Speedway (DE) since the track is one of his favorites to race at.  Unfortunately a tangle with another car late in the race took Freeman from a top-five car to a disappointing 22nd-place finish.
Freeman didn’t qualify up towards the front, but the #2 Mr. Mouth / SmashMouth Dodge was fast and it showed throughout the race as he worked his way up to the lead.

“We definitely had a good race,” said Freeman. “We had a good car; a late-run car. With about 40 laps on the tires we were one of the better cars and at least a top-five car.  I was waiting on the tires to come in and using a lot of give and take. A young rookie happened to not quite understand the passing rule. I gave him a lane and he kind of misaimed the lane and ended up driving through the rear bumper. It was unfortunate because I think we had a car to run top-three and battle it out at the end with them.

“I’m very disappointed. This is a place where we run well and unfortunately we didn’t get it, but we were up front and showed we could run with the best of them.”
While the 2007 NASCAR Busch East Series season has concluded, Freeman isn’t ready to hang up the helmet for the year.

“We have a few things in the works for the rest of the 2007 racing season as well as 2008 and beyond,” said Freeman.  “I am excited about the opportunities that I have ahead of me and look forward to announcing them soon.”
