John Freeman Battles for 17th at New Hampshire
John Freeman came into the NASCAR Busch East Series event at New Hampshire International Speedway on September 14th with plenty of high hopes.  With a new sponsor on the side of his #2 Dodge Charger, Mr. Mouth and the popular rock band Smash Mouth, Freeman was pumped up for a strong showing at NHIS, a place he had run well at before.
Unfortunately, mechanical gremlins caused a hiccup in the #2 machine, keeping Freeman from getting maximum speed at the high-horsepower NHIS track.  Once the problem was rectified, Freeman was able to soldier back for a 17th-place finish.

"We struggled all weekend," said Freeman.  "We qualified unusually bad for being at New Hampshire (23rd) considering we are normally a top-10 car here.  We were really bothered by the idea and didn’t know what our problem was.  Come to find out, with about 25 to go, my ignition shut off.  I switched boxes and the other ignition box was about 400 rpm’s better and about a second faster on the racetrack. I guess we were just fighting that bad box all weekend
and never knew it. We figured it was our suspension or our aero or something else. It was a let down to know that we had such a great car because we were as fast or faster than the leader once we got the box fixed. It was a bummer in that way, but we got Dover next week and I’m excited about that.

Freeman will be back in action at another track he really enjoys, Dover International Speedway (DE) on Friday, September 21st.
