John Freeman Returns to Racing with a Fourth-Place Finish at Lowe's Motor Speedway
NASCAR Racer Returns to his Roots to Restart his Climb to the Top
It has been quite some time since John Freeman has taken the green flag in a race car.  The former NASCAR Camping World East racer has taken a break from the racing scene to help out his family business, Freeman's Stereo Video, the Carolinas’ best known and most respected name in mobile and home entertainment products and installations.  However, the drive to compete is still there for Freeman, and Monday he showed he could still compete on the track by finishing fourth in the Legends Pro feature at Lowe's Motor Speedway (NC).

"I have been working with the family business for a while, helping that out," said Freeman.  "Hopefully the economy will turn around so I can get back into a big ride, but I have to race somewhere and keep my reactions fresh, so I decided to get back into a Legends Car.  I got hooked up with Dennis Lambert, so I decided to drive a car that he set up to get some seat time before the Summer Shootout."

To stay closer to home as he transitions back to being a full-time racer, Freeman will be concentrating his racing efforts at LMS during the 2009 Summer Shootout, although there is still a possibility of racing in the higher ranks if a sponsor and the right opportunity comes along.

"We are working a couple situations.  Of course, having a sponsor would be nice and would help out greatly.  This is our hometown track and we have a lot of friends here and a lot of history here between my Dad and I at the Summer Shootout.  We have a ton of wins and championships, so I would love to add to the totals this year."

Stay tuned for more information on John Freeman's 2009 racing schedule, coming soon.
