John Freeman Keeps Stellar Performance Alive
Pro Legends Car Driver Looks to End Season on a Hot Note
No matter how you look at it, John Freeman has come on strong in the closing weeks of this season’s Summer Shootout at Lowe’s Motor Speedway (NC).   His fifth and third-place runs in the double-event in the Pro Legends car class are signs of his strength.

“I think we had something for the guys up front tonight,” said Freeman after the second race.  “Someone behind us didn’t want us up there and they punted us off into one, and we almost took out the whole field.  That knocked the front end out a bit and it hurt our chances of contending for the win. We still got third and that’s a good run.”

Freeman knows the competition has been tough, but he’s still going to fight until the end of the season. If you took Pro Legends Car point leader Daniel Hemric out of the mix, Freeman would enter the final race of the season just one point off the championship lead.
“We came into tonight up high in points,” said Freeman.  “Daniel Hemric has been pretty much unbeatable, so we are just looking to finish second.  Hopefully we can get a win next week.”

Still, it has been nine weeks of fun for John Freeman at the Summer Shootout and maybe a return trip to Legends Cars has sparked a new interest for the young driver.

“It’s had been six years since I had raced these cars,” said Freeman.  “I am really happy now that we have done this deal.  Racing at the Summer Shootout has been cool and we’ll be back one way or another next season.”

Round 10 of the Summer Shootout will take place on Tuesday, August 11th at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway (NC).
